Thai Language Lessons: Thai Vowels, Part 1

Welcome to Thailand.Tk
Welcome to Thailand.Tk Welcome to Thailand.Tk
Welcome to Thailand.Tk

This lesson is the first of two lessons teaching the Thai vowels. This installment introduces the sounds of the vowels, and how vowel formations change based on where they appear in a word. Some rare and seldom used vowels are included for the sake of completeness. Part two will give example words using the vowels used in this lesson. On a side note, please note that I am not a native Thai speaker, so my pronunciation may be a little "off key". I'm a Thai language student who has been learning Thai by myself for the last five years, and am making these videos to teach others in a manner that I found helpful for my own learning. I've found that it much harder to pronounce some of these odd vowels (and tones) properly on cue and slowly, as needed to make a video like this. So please bear this in mind when viewing my videos.

Thank you for your videos. I'm sure they're as helpful to many other people as they are to me.

This is so great. I only wish you went slower when listing them, so we can let the differences sink in. Still, the best explanation of Thai vowels I've seen

Thank you for this! I'm learning Thai, and this is helpful in understanding the written part of the language which is a little confusing for me.

Thanks a bunch for the post. I speak Thai fairly well, hints I'm married to a wonderful Thai girl. I've been studying for the past year and a half. So now putting some book knowledge with my speaking ability is extra complimentary.
