People are allowed to change their style if they want to. I can't speak for all of those you've mentioned, but I know that My Chemical Romance didn't change 'just to get popular'. They put in so much into the black parade album and they deserved the success they got. And this song makes so many people happy, so it can't be all that bad. Fair enough you don't like it, but that doesn't mean its a bad song.
